NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 7, SECTION 23 (C) OF THE CONSTITUTION AND R.S. 47:1705(B) THAT A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE TOWN OF MADISONVILLE OF THE PARISH OF ST TAMMANY WILL BE HELD AT THE REGULAR MEETING PLACE, TOWN HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, LOCATED AT 209 HWY 22 W., MADISONVILLE, LOUISIANA, 70447 ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2024 AT 6:00 P.M. TO CONSIDER LEVYING ADDITIONAL OR INCREASED MILLAGE RATES WITHOUT FURTHER VOTER APPROVAL OR ADOPTING THE ADJUSTED MILLAGE RATE AFTER REASSESSMENT AND ROLLING FORWARD TO RATES NOT TO EXCEED THE PRIOR YEAR’S MAXIMUM. THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF TAX REVENUES TO BE COLLECTED FOR GENERAL ALIMONY IN THE NEXT TAX YEAR FROM THE INCREASED MILLAGE IS $165200.76 AND THE AMOUNT OF INCREASE IN TAXES ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE MILLAGE INCREASE IS $4956.02.

THERE IS A NEW POLICE PAY MATRIX THAT STARTS NEW OFFICERS OFF AT $18.00- 21.60 PER HOUR DOE. THIS WAS INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET THAT WAS PASSED AT THE JUNE COUNCIL MEETING .
