Madisonville Historic Museum
The Madisonville Historic Museum is housed in the historic Court House and Jail located at 211 Cedar Street. The museum has a collection of Madisonville Indian Culture, Civil War History, Wildlife, old town documents, photographs and family geneology. It also houses the “Alice”, a handmade canoe which was the first to travel the length of the Mississippi in 1881 with explorer Willard Glazier. Visitors can explore the 6-cell jail, as well as many artifacts from the historic town. Open each Saturday and Sunday noon to 4p.m.. Free Admission. Donations accepted.
