Public Committee Meeting
September 27, 2017
7:00 p.m.


Mayor Pelloat called the public committee meeting to order.

On roll call, the following were present:  Mayor Pelloat, Councilmen Hitzman, Haddox, Bounds and Bouey

 Absent: Councilmen Doran

Councilman Bouey led the pledge.

Committee Members:  Councilman Tim Bounds
                                     Councilman Chris Hitzman
No business.

1.  Utility Rate Review – Gas, Water, Sewer, and Garbage – after discussion and review of those rates available from other municipalities, the Council determined they would like to increase flat rates for water and sewer by $2.00 each, gas by $3.00 and garbage by $1.75 with further review of rates of those municipalities not yet available.  The Council did acknowledge that it is not possible to immediately raise sewer and water rates to eliminate the deficits that occur in those funds.
2. Cell Tower – after discussion there was no consensus on what action should be taken in regards to the buyout offer.  Thus, the Council decided further thought and consideration is required before making a final recommendation.

1. Review ordinance pertaining to height regulations – no comments or concerns.  Mr. Danner explained that he drafted the ordinance in accordance with comments received from the Council during prior meetings.
2. Review the scope of work and price submitted by Joseph Furr Design Studio for the Town Of Madisonville – Mr. Furr presented the Mayor and Council with a two page document that provided details on the total cost of a Master Plan for the Town.  The total cost is $47,800. Mr. Furr responded to questions by the Mayor and Council regarding project deliverables.

Public Comment Period:  members of the audience will have three (3) minutes to make a statement or express a concern.  (Anyone having or expressing a concern tonight may or may not get an answer due to the fact that the council is hearing the concern for the first time.  All statements will be considered and everyone will receive an answer in the near future).

There were no comments from the audience.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned on motion of Councilman Hitzman and seconded by Councilman Haddox, all were in favor.
