Public Committee Meeting
June 28, 2017

Mayor Pelloat called the meeting to order.
Roll call was as follows: Present:  Mayor Pelloat, Councilman Hitzman, Haddox and Bouey.  Absent:  Councilman Bounds and Doran.

1. Review list of ordinances introduced at June 14th Meeting
A.  Ordinance No. 143 Amending Code of Ordinances to Increase Annual Salary of Mayor – no comments.
B. Ordinance No. 144 Amending Code of Ordinances, Chapter 10 Article A Section 10.19 Building Permits, g Fill Regulations 7a – no comments.
C. Ordinance No. 145 Amending Code of Ordinances Chapter 7, Streets, Sidewalks, Wharves and Public Ways Section 7.2 to add Section 7.2a – no comments.
D. Ordinance No. 146 Amending Code of Ordinances Chapter 10 Article A Section 10.7 Districts Established to add (a) Lot Sizes – no comments.
E. Ordinance No. 147 Amending Code of Ordinance Chapter 10, Article A, Section 10.19 Building Permits - no comments.
F. Ordinance No. 148 Amending Code of Ordinances Chapter 10 Article A, Section 10.10 A-Residence District Permitted Uses – no comments.
2. Review ordinance pertaining to height regulations – after discussion the general consensus, with no action taken, was to measure from the natural grade with a maximum height of 40’.  Councilman Bounds and Haddox will be working with Jewell to write/rewrite the ordinance.
3. Review ordinance pertaining to the annual permit sticker for boat trailers – discussion included possible corrections/changes to the amounts on the cost of the permit; amend the citation form by removing “in lieu of …., and add a court date.

1. Parking on Water St. – Mayor Pelloat reported that Morton’s and the Chamber would like to meet to learn the affects it will have on businesses in Town.

Public Comment Period: members of the audience will have three (3) minutes to make a statement or express a concern.  (Anyone having or expressing a concern tonight may or may not get an answer due to the fact that the council is hearing the concern for the first time.  All statements will be considered and everyone will receive an answer in the near future).

1.  Ryan Richard stated he would find the best way to move forward at Abita Roasting and be in compliance. After lengthy discussion it was determined that having the Riverfront Commercial ordinance rewritten to allow for more restaurants in the District.  Mr. Richard was informed that he would need to begin by going before the Planning and Zoning Commission and go through the process.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned on motion of Councilman Hitzman and seconded by Councilman Bounds, all were in favor.
